What you do with your authority shows the faith you have in Jesus.
The Centurion had authority. Many people answered to him. He only answered to a few people.
But he knew Jesus had real authority. The Centurion was “the man” wherever he went. Still, Jesus had him beat.
So he took his authority and placed it at the feet of Jesus.
As a leader, you have authority. You can tell people to do this, that or the other.
God has given you that authority. This isn’t telling you that authority is bad. But rather it is what you do with authority in your relationship with Jesus that matters.
Faith in Jesus isn’t using your authority to tell Jesus what to do. It is pushing your authority to his feet knowing he has way more authority than you do.
Have you placed your authority at the feet of Jesus?
This series is about leadership lessons we can apply to our everyday lives from the stories of Jesus’ miracles. Today’s reading is from Luke 7:1-10.
