Holiness was the defining characteristic in both covenants. Old and new. Whatever was apart of each covenant, must be consecrated for holiness.

At its most basic form, holiness is to be set apart for a purpose.
Consecration is the act of being set apart.

On Halloween, the concepts of holiness and consecration are seen in all their glory.

Kids get candy.
Kids dump candy out.
Kids set apart their favorites (consecration).
Kids save favorite candy for special purpose (holiness).

You were set apart for a specific purpose. God has consecrated you. God is making you holy.

You lead people set apart for a specific purpose. Are you leading them to holiness? Are you leading them to discover that purpose?

God does the consecrating. We simply bring our life to him asking for the holiness he freely gives.

When you and those around you find their holiness, there is nothing stopping you because God is using you to do his work.

How can you lead someone to find their holiness today?

This is to help you recognize a little of what God is trying to say through Hebrews 9:1-5 by sharing what God was revealing to me. You can subscribe to this daily perspective via email or RSS.
